Bike
sizing
OK, so you want a new bike ,but how do you go about getting the best return
for your investment? A bike is more than the sum of it's parts. To maximise
comfort and enjoyment and make the most of your potential you need to
ensure that the bike is tailored to your own body dimensions and flexibility.
The only way to ensure that all factors are considered is to see the rider
in "cycling mode" this involves the potential buyer being put
on a bike on a static trainer or other fixed device. Then each aspect
of the fit can be systematically considered from shoe plate position through
saddle position and finally onto controls (bars ,stem and brake levers).
Measuring you only tells part of the story.
We take great care in each step of this process to ensure you get "exactly"
what you need rather than just "good enough"!
Each manufacturer has their own idea about frame geometry. It is not whether
one builder is wrong and another right, but more about what is most suitable
for the individual. Getting this right is far more influential in the
bike's performance than what type of rear mech. you are going to fit.
With a bit of care and patience the sizing process can be informative
and rewarding for the individual. We have a proven track record in this
field with many customers benefiting from improved bike fit allowing them
to tackle challenges previously unimaginable.
Deciding on the exact specification of your new purchase is part of the
fun. At Cycles Dauphin we recognise this and will assist you in making
informed decisions that result in a specification that will suit your
purpose and occasionally your budget!
Put your trust in our experience, we will be with you all the way.
